Little Howle Farm

Little Howle Farm, Howle Hill, Ross-on-Wye HR9 5SL

Open Space

To the rear is a large car park.  We ask guests to park here once unloaded as it keeps the courtyard free and gives all of us a lovely view each time we look out!

Each barn has a sunny patio to the front with tables and chairs. There are seat cushions and blankets in each lobby cupboard for chillier days. There is extensive outside space which we encourage our guests to use, including a large lawn, fire pit area, BBQ and a sunny relaxation terrace with beautiful views.

The fire pit has big logs to sit on dotted around it and there is a log store next to it.  We’ve spent many an evening toasting marshmallows and chatting through our day round it.  In the same area, we have a small storage shed which houses all the BBQ utensils, plates, cups etc  and a picnic bench with sunshade is close by. There are both gas and charcoal BBQ’s so guests can choose which they’d prefer.

At the top of the garden there is a gravel area with a picnic bench and sunshade.  There are such amazing views from here over the Malvern Hills.  We could easily take one of the BBQ’s and equipment to this terrace if wanted.  There is very little light pollution on Howle Hill.  We’ve found this terrace to be the best viewing spot for stargazing.  There are a couple of luxury loungers complete with comfy cushions which we can provide on request for sunbathing, stargazing or both!

We are happy for guests to make use of our garden.  There is an extensive grass area, so if guests want to stay in for the day, we can provide a picnic hamper for them to fill (or a full one at additional cost).  We have several garden games in our games room to keep everyone entertained including: Giant Jenga, Giant Pick up Sticks, Boules, Badminton.

We are so close to the Forest of Dean and all its marvellous cycle trails, that often guests bring their own bikes.  We can store these in one of our lockable sheds (although it is at their own risk).
